Metropolitan State University of Denver
My name is Dr. Michele Trujillo. I have worked in the field of education for 24 years. I have been teaching at the university level for 16 years and have also worked as a special education teacher and school principal in K-12 for 8 years. In addition, my husband and I have co-founded and co-direct a Justice and Heritage Academy, which is the center of my current research work. I have taught a variety of courses at the university for several semesters and enjoy it very much; my specialty is bilingual and multicultural special education. My philosophy of education is to create socially just learning experiences in addition to including students' culture to ensure inclusive education for all students. Some of my interests include: hiking, skiing, rafting, camping, reading a variety of genres including Greek mythology, wilderness literature, playing flute & guitar. I also enjoy family time with my husband, daughter, my mother, siblings, nephews and my close friends.
