Biography

Marwa Elshafie has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston, an M.Ed. in Education from Exeter University, and a B.A. in English from Egypt. She has taught second language methodology and ESL courses in different countries and is currently working as an adjunct instructor at UH. Her research interests include preservice teachers' language ideologies, translanguaging, and culturally and linguistically responsive teaching.
