Biography

Alestra Flores Menéndez serves as the Director of Multilingual Initiatives with Amplify Education. Alestra brings over twenty years of experience as an educator across diverse contexts; she has served as a Spanish dual immersion teacher, literacy coach, college English instructor and curriculum developer. Alestra has a long history of advocacy for empowering all students to reach their full potential, including multilingual students, students with special needs, and historically marginalized students. She has demonstrated her dedication to educators and students by providing instruction and professional development all over the U.S. and in Latin America. Alestra’s professional pursuits are grounded in the belief that literacy development is a life-long endeavor and one of the most impactful ways to change lives.
