Deborah Palmer, Ph.D. is Professor of Equity, Bilingualism and Biliteracy in the School of Education and affiliate faculty in Ethnic Studies and the BUENO Center at the University of Colorado Boulder. A former DLBE teacher in California and bilingual teacher educator in Texas, she conducts qualitative research to support equity and justice for bi/multilingual learners. She has two recent co-edited volumes Critical Consciousness in Dual Language Bilingual Education: Case Studies on Policy and Practice (Routledge) and Gentrification and Bilingual Education: A Texas Two-way Bilingual School Across Seven Years (Lexington Books). She has written over 70 book chapters and journal articles, most recently in Anthropology & Education Quarterly, Research in the Teaching of English, and Education Policy Analysis Archives.
