Dr. Mónica Medina is a Dual Language Coordinator for secondary grades 6-8 at San Antonio ISD, where she works to bridge the elementary and secondary Dual Language program to sustain biliteracy, bilingualism, and biculturalism for all emergent bilingual students. She holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration on Bicultural Bilingual Education. She also holds M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies as well as a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. Her research focus is on the experiences of bilingual and bicultural administrators of Dual Language schools. She has applied this research to her nationwide presentations, publications, and district-wide Professional Development for teachers, Instructional Coaches, and Specialists, as well as administrators.
