Texas Woman's University/Hodge Elementary
Germaine Koskina has a PhD in Reading Education from Texas Woman's University where she works as an adjunct professor, a Master of Arts in Bilingual/ESL Education from the University of Texas Permian Basin, and a Bachelor's of Art in French Language and Culture from Penn State University. Her research interests encompass bilingual education, multimodality and multiliteracies, heritage language development, and translanguaging. Dr. Koskina has presented her research nationally at the Literacy Research Association, American Educational Research Association, National Association for Bilingual Education, Bilingual - ESL Education Association of the Metroplex. She will present internationally at the 23rd European Conference on Literacy in Crete in June. She has been an elementary teacher for 12 years and works at Denton ISD's Hodge Elementary as a bilingual teacher in a two-way dual language program. She has lived in Chile, France, Greece, and England and is fluent in English, Spanish, Greek, and French in all four domains.
