Biography

Esther Quintero is a senior fellow at the Albert Shanker Institute, a think tank committed to strengthening public education, worker voice, and democracy. Dr. Quintero conducts and synthesizes research that to inform reform to areas such as the context of teachers work, literacy instruction, and curriculum. Quintero and coauthors recently published Reading Reform Across America, a report that examines reading related state legislation enacted in the past four years. She holds a BA from the University of Seville (Spain) and a PhD in sociology from Cornell University.
