Jorge Solís received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education and is a former middle school teacher in Northern California. In 2012, he joined the research and teaching faculty of the Bicultural-Bilingual Studies Department at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has collaborated and led several longitudinal STEM education and biliteracy projects aimed at improving access to science and mathematics in diverse classroom contexts with pre-service and in-service teachers in K-12 grades. His research is oriented to integrating cutting-edge research with transformative educational practices. His work as appeared in Linguistics & Education, Journal of the Association of Mexican American Educator, Bilingual Review/La Revista Bilingüe, Issues in Teacher Education, and Journal of Science Teacher Education.
