Biography

Jana Dean has been a teacher at the intersection of learning mathematics and learning language for over two decades. She has extensive experience at the middle school level, and has also served as faculty in teacher preparation programs. She facilitates professional development for teachers of mathematics for the Mathematics Education Collaborative. Her research interest is the role of language routines in promoting mathematical competence and developing language for learning mathematics.
