Biography

Hello, I’m Laura Hernández-López, the proud principal of Charles Graebner Elementary. I’ve spent 22 years in the field of education working as an Instructional Assistant, Bilingual Teacher, Bilingual Instructional Coach, Bilingual/ESL Facilitator, and Assistant Principal. I look forward to starting my 4th year as a campus principal and eager to welcome all students and families. I'm a proud product of SAISD and a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish/Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. I consider myself a lifelong learner and live by the philosophy my parents instilled in me at a young age: Education is the key to success. As a servant leader, I’m driven by my passion to serve students, families, and staff by providing the best high-quality education. I'm eager to continue strengthening the relationships between our school and community by creating a collaborative school environment that nurtures a love for learning.
