Biography

Juanita A. Santos, Ed.D., is the Executive Director of the 1882 Dual Language Community Lab Schools Partnership at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Dr. Santos has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum specialist. In addition to her varied experience in the classroom, she has worked as an administrator at successful Title 1 dual language campuses and has completed six years as an elementary principal. Dr. Santos currently oversees four dual language campuses in San Antonio I.S.D. as part of a Senate Bill 1882 Partnership. She also manages the UTSA research studies conducted on the dual language campuses and works collaboratively with campus principals and district leadership to support the campus's academic excellence, organizational strength, and financial health. Dr. Santos teaches Principalship at UTSA and presents at state, national, and international conferences. Dr. Santos is from Lubbock, Texas and earned a B.S. in education from Texas Tech University then an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas.
