Biography

Dr. Sagehorn is a university professor at Pittsburg State University, Kansas. She teaches graduate courses in ESOL and Curriculum. She consults nationally and internationally in the areas of English for Speakers of Other Languages, Curriculum, and Teacher Education. She has presented in 25 states and 7 countries. She has written several articles and is a co-author of Reading at Home with Your Child. Dr. Sagehorn is a consultant for the Comite' Paraguay Kansas. She held Professional Development workshops for K-6 teachers from bilingual (Spanish/English) schools and Grade 7-12 and university professors (Spanish/English) from Paraguay, SA. These 5-week professional development workshops focused on using the internet to teach students while schools were closed due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. The workshops included use of engagement activities and building background and vocabulary in an online learning environment.
