Biography

Dr. Teresa Cabal Krastel is the Director of Professional Learning Curriculum at WIDA. She is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in assessment, content and curriculum developmnet, and educational publishing. She has led teams in the nonprofit educational sector as well as in higher education and brings many years of K-12, undergraduate, and graduate classroom experience. Teresa is passionate about languages and linguistics, reserach-based evidence and instructional practive, and advancing equity and accessibility in education, especially for multilingual learners. She received her B.A. in Linguistics from Northwestern University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Linguistics from the Universtiy of Massachusetts-Amherst.
