Biography

Samara began teaching in Phoenix, AZ, after joining Teach For America. Here she found her passion for working with English Language Learners as she was one herself after emigrating from Colombia as a young child. Her teaching journey took her to Chicago, IL, and then brought her back to Binghamton, NY, where she grew up and continues to be an educator today. In her current position as a collaborative coach, Samara supports teachers in areas of classroom management and instruction through the lens of language and cultural responsiveness. Samara is a mom of two amazing children, and when not teaching, she loves dancing salsa and bachata.
