Biography

I'm Jesabel Centeno. I left the warm beaches of Puerto Rico and moved to the beautiful green scenery of Oregon. As a skilled and enthusiastic Biliteracy Specialist, Multilingual Learner Specialist, 1st grade Spanish Two Way Immersion teacher, Title 1 Coordinator and Literacy Specialist, 1st grade Spanish Two Way Immersion teacher, Title 1 Coordinator and Literacy Specialist with 17 years of experience assisting students of varying ages and diverse cultural backgrounds in facing and overcoming reading difficulties and language barriers, as well as coaching/mentoring teachers. I stand as an advocate and role model for Multilingual learners, students that are dual identified with diverse ethnic, racial, linguistic, and/or cultural backgrounds. I am a SPED Lead Doctorate Candidate, and holds a M.Ed in Special Education from Universidad del Turabo in Puerto Rico, as well as a Bilingual, ESOL and Reading endorsement from Lewis & Clark College.
