Biography

Leah Hinkle is in her ninth year as an education specialist with the Teaching and Learning Department at Clackamas Education Service District. Her specialty is culturally and linguistically diverse learners. She formerly worked in the Greater Albany School District, first as a bilingual educational assistant, then as an ELD teacher at the secondary levels, and lastly as the district's Teacher on Special Assignment to English Learner Programs. She worked side-by-side with Spanish/English translators and the bilingual family liaison at the district’s Welcome Center or Centro de bienvenida for six years. Most recently Leah began working with small and rural districts to support multilingual students and families in northwest Oregon through HB 3499.
