Prof. Dr . Rick de Graaff is professor of Foreign Language Pedagogy and team leader of the Multilingualism and Education research group at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (UUAS). The research group (6 fulltime staff; 3 PhD students) closely collaborates with the UUAS teacher education institute and partner schools. Rick is also a professor at Utrecht University (Utrecht Institute of Linguistics and Graduate School of Teaching, see https://www.uu.nl/staff/RdeGraaff) on foreign language pedagogy, content and language integrated learning, curriculum development and teacher education. He has initiated, coordinated and participated in several national international research and development projects, including in Erasmus+ KA2 project TeCoLa (https://sites.google.com/site/tecolaproject/ ), EU LifeLongLearning project TILA (http://www.tilaproject.eu/) and European Centre of Modern Language’s FREPA project (https://carap.ecml.at/ ). Rick furthermore has been a leading partner in the development of Quality Assurance Standards for bilingual primary and secondary education in the Netherlands. He chairs the assessors’ committees for bilingual secondary education and so has a lot of expertise in the field of secondary education as well. Therefore he is regularly asked to deliver keynotes in the Netherlands and neighbouring countries.
