Biography

Jianing Li is a fourth-year doctoral student at Fordham University in the program of Innovation in Curriculum and Instruction. Her study focuses on topics of multilingual education, children's picture books, and gender equity in education. In 2017 Jianing Li volunteered in a rural elementary school in Indonesia to teach the kids basic English and organize activities after class. She was the head teacher for grade 4-5 students at New Oriental English in China during 2017-2018. Jianing volunteered as TA with children from under-resourced families in the Go Project, New York, from 2019 to 2021. From 2020 to 2021, she was an intern in the Youdao Content Research Department at NetEase Inc. to develop the teaching content for Chinese middle school students to support the online classes. From 2023 till now Jianing has been volunteering as an afterschool reading supporter at a Chinese immersion preschool in New York to read Chinese picture books and facilitate relevant Chinese language practicing activities with children.
