Biography

Raúl Escarpio has been in the field education for close to 30 years from the Pre-K through the college level. He was a classroom teacher for 13 years working with students of all ability and language levels and has served as a district leader in behavior. He has advanced degrees including a doctorate in special education. After receiving his doctorate, he transitioned to the college level as a professor for eight years where he prepared special education teachers and paraprofessionals. During this time, he saw a need arise and created a consulting company that would leverage his expertise in special education and emergent bilinguals to archdioceses and school leaders nationwide in creating school-based inclusive programs. Dr. Escarpio has been invited to the state level Department of Education as a subject matter expert and at the national level by the Department of Education to discuss how to meet the needs of English Learners and students with disabilities. He has been also been published and presented at the national and international level.
