Biography

Margo helps design and contribute to language development standards frameworks and related documents for WIDA. Being a teacher, consultant, and mentor, she has worked with universities, organizations, governments, states, school districts, and schools in co-constructing linguistic and culturally sustainable curriculum and reconceptualizing classroom assessment policy and practice. Margo’s passion has always been assessment, starting with her dissertation, a K-12 multilingual test in Spanish, Lao, and English. Since then, she has been appointed to national and state advisory boards, has been a Fulbright Scholar, and has presented across the United States and in 25 countries. Having authored, co-authored, or co-edited over 100 publications, including 20 books and guides, Margo's latest additions are Classroom Assessment of Multilingual Learners: A Handbook for Teachers, her best-seller 3e Assessing Multilingual Learners: Bridges to Empowerment, and Collaborative Assessment for Multilingual Learners and Teachers:Pathways to Partnerships (with A. Honigsfeld), all published by Corwin.
