Biography

During her 36 years in public education, Marcy coordinated Gifted and Bilingual/ESL Programs and helped implement a Dual Language Program. She also served on the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) Board and as Chair of the Texas Education Commissioner’s Gifted and Talented Advisory Council. Since retirement, she has spent time as an ELL Coach, writer, and researcher. Marcy currently serves as an educational consultant, Facilitator for the TAGT Emerging Leaders Program, Chair of the National Association of Bilingual Educators GT/Bilingual Special Interest Group, and Advisory Board member for National Center for Research on Gifted Education Project EAGLE, a Javits Grant focusing on the identification of gifted multilingual students. Marcy created the Academic Language Cards, Q3 Cards, and TALK Cards and is co-author of Implementing Evidence-Based Practices in Gifted Education.
