Biography

My name is Laura Thomas and I am a mining technologist with CanmetMINING. I am currently a candidate for a Masters of Science Communication from Laurentian University. After graduating from the University of Waterloo with an Honours B. Env with a focus on Natural Resource Studies, I wandered around the Arctic for a few years. I started my career in 2015 with Natural Resources Canada, specializing in transforming technologies in underground mines. My work has focused on streamlining the mine regulatory process and the status of Indigenous consultation in Canada. I spend my spare time horseback riding, going to trivia nights, and baking for my family.
