Prof. Vera Adobea Essuman is a Professor of Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Ophthalmology Unit, Department of Surgery, University of Ghana Medical School, College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. She is an Eye Health Hero (2018) of the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness and is currently leading a national effort to establish a comprehensive and sustainable national strategy for retinoblastoma in Ghana. She is involved in retinoblastoma research globally
