Shiley Eye Institute - UC San Diego
I am an Iranian medical doctor and currently a post-doctoral research fellow at the Shiley Eye Institute, University of California, San Diego. I graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Medicine, in 2020.
My journey in ophthalmology research began shortly after graduation and has continued for the past five years. Throughout this time, I have been deeply committed to understanding the mechanisms of vision loss, with a particular focus on glaucoma, one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide.
In 2023, I moved to the United States to expand my research experience and immerse myself in advanced glaucoma studies. Now in my second year at UC San Diego, I am involved in projects that explore glaucoma pathophysiology and utilize cutting-edge imaging technologies to improve diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment strategies.
My passion lies in blindness prevention, and I view glaucoma research as a critical pathway toward achieving that goal. I am motivated by the belief that through collaborative research and innovation, we can develop better ways to preserve sight and improve patients’ quality of life.
