Biography

Dr. Kandel obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Florida International University in April 2019. During his graduate research, Dr.Kandel designed novel pyrazole based ligands and their complexes with palladium, silver and mercury and studied their sensing, antimicrobial and catalytic applications. Dr. Kandel's research interests lie primarily in the areas of inorganic, environmental, and nuclear chemistry. Currently, Dr. Kandel is a postdoc at Applied Research Center Florida International University. He is investigating impact of grout on the dissolution behavior of borosilicate glass designed for LAW immobilization.
