Biography

Dr. Thomas Bücherl is senior scientist at the Central Technical-Scientific Operating Unit Radiochemistry Munich (RCM) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He is responsible for the non-destructive quality checking of radioactive waste packages, both, in R&D and routine operation. He performs R&D in the field of defense against nuclear hazards, cooperating with federal and Bavarian authorities. At the research reactor FRM-2 of the TUM, Thomas is operating the fission neutron radiography and tomography facility NECTAR. Thomas is member of the steering committee of the European Network of Testing Facilities of Radioactive Waste Packages (ENTRAP) and secretary of the International Society for Neutron Radiography.
