David Hambley works in the Fuel, Reactors and Reprocessing Business of the National Nuclear Laboratory, where is the Laboratory Fellow for Spent Fuel Management and Disposal. In this role, he is responsible for leading NNL’s activities to support the interim storage of spent oxide fuels, remediation and interim storage of legacy, mainly uranium metal, fuels and evaluating the management of new fuel designs and fuels from advanced reactors. He is also actively involved in research into the behaviour of the irradiated fuels in repository environments.
