Biography

Ms. Guzel Tartakovsky has well over a decade of experience in numerical modeling of flow and transport in porous media. Guzel has been applying the STOMP simulator to a variety of multiphase problems during her employment at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Columbia Environmental Sciences, Inc., and now at INTERA, Inc. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed papers and technical reports related to vadose zone flow and transport, remediation of NAPLs, and geologic CO2 sequestration. As a graduate research assistant at the University of Arizona, she had developed an analytical solution for the delayed aquifer response process characterizing flow to a pumping well. The solution was implemented in AQTESOLV.
