Biography

Kurt J. Haunreiter is a paper scientist who manages the Wollenberg Paper & Bioresource Science Laboratory at the University of Washington. Research activity is focused on the characterization and development of regional non-wood lignocellulosic biomass resources for use in paper and in biorefineries. Research projects are in the following main areas: 1) Biomass pretreatment, delignification, and hydrolysis; 2) Biomass characterization, 3) Paper and Biorefinery process application.
