Dr. Bowers is a quantitative ecologist with broad interests in marine ecology, marine mammal biology, acoustics, animal movement, environmental statistics, and chemistry. He has extensive experience in marine ecology and studying the impacts of sound on marine mammal biology and behavior. He has worked on multiple Behavioral Response Studies (BRS) which are interdisciplinary research collaborations designed to understand the basic behavior (diving, acoustic, social behavior) of various marine mammal species as well as their behavioral responses to controlled sound exposures.
