Biography

Cornelia is post-doc at the University of Adelaide, Australia, cooperating with the CSIRO Noble gas facility and Environmental Tracer team. She develops methodologies investigating noble gases in fluid inclusions and their relation to pore water in deep low permeable rock formations, such as granite, shale or rock salt. This is an important part of testing safety parameters of host rocks for suitability as deep waste disposal. Cornelia obtained her PhD at the Bergakademie University of Freiberg (Germany) applying environmental tracers in groundwater systems of arid regions.
