Biography

Dave graduated from Sheffield University in 1987 with a BSc (Hons) in Geology and from Newcastle University in 1991 with a PhD in Physics. He worked at the Universities of Birmingham and Newcastle, Imperial College London and the Institut Francais du Petrole on compaction, faulting and fluid flow in clays and mudstones. He moved to CSIRO in 1998 and has worked on rock properties in mudstones, carbonates and sandstones for application to hydrocarbon exploration and production, CCS and in recent times borehole disposal of nuclear waste.
