Biography

Neil Chapman is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Sheffield, UK and an independent consultant. He trained as a geologist and, for over 45 years, has worked for radioactive waste management agencies, regulatory authorities and international organisations worldwide, publishing more than 200 papers and articles, and several books on geological disposal. He has been involved in the radioactive waste management programmes of Canada, Finland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UK and the USA, as well as working with the European Commission, the IAEA and the ERDO Association.
