Biography

Matthew Smith is the manager of the Radiation Safety team at Kinectrics Inc. He has over 20 years experience in radiation physics and has specialized in radiation shielding and dose uptake. He has worked on projects including new-build, decommissioning, transport, medical and high-energy physics. Matthew has undertaken and managed shielding and dose uptake assessments for many Canadian clients including Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Bruce Power, Point Lepreau and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). In addition, he has extensive international experience including Sellafield Ltd, URENCO Ltd, MAGNOX, Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) and Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) in the U.K, and Entergy and Neutron Therapeutics in the U.S.
