Biography

My name is Kathleen Lugo Charriez and I am currently doing a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Central Florida. Born and raised in Puerto Rico I came to Florida in 2016 as an exchange student. After a year at Florida International University I decided to transfer and finish my BS in Chemistry at this institution. My mom had recently been diagnosed with cancer and was living in Florida at the time which catalyzed my decision. Through my short career I have been fortunate enough to participate in multiple internships, publications and presentations where I got to share with the world my love for Environmental Chemistry.
