Biography

William is a post-doctoral researcher developing novel impact and vibration absorption components for radioactive materials packaging. He is very interested in developing modeling techniques including analytical and FE (Abaqus) models. Research topics have included elastic metamaterials, honeycomb lattices, hydrogen permeation, active structural acoustic control, and seismic modeling. He received his PhD in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech where he developed a novel technique for pulse shaping using elastic metamaterials. While there he was also a Sam Nunn National Security Fellow, which provided him the opportunity to study national security and technology. He has two sons and loves to ski!
