Biography

Tom began his professional career in the Navy as a nuclear-trained Surface Warfare Officer and has more than 30 years’ experience in nuclear operations and regulatory licensing, having held senior positions with the US NRC and DOE. He has extensive managerial experience in NRC licensing practices and policies for operating commercial reactors and fuel-cycle facilities, and has managed organizations responsible for fuel-cycle criticality safety and inspection programs. He was Technical Assistant to the Executive Director and a Senior Advisor to one of NRC’s five Presidential-appointed Commissioners. Tom is currently a Senior Advisor in DOE’s Office of Nuclear Safety,
