Silvina “Silvi” Di Pietro is a Nat’l Nuclear Security Adm. graduate fellow and postdoc researcher at Lawrence Livermore Nat’l Laboratory. At LLNL, Silvi is currently working with the Chemistry of Nuclear Materials group investigating uranium (U) organometallic chemistry. Prior to LLNL, Silvi obtained her PhD in environmental chemistry in March 2021 from Florida Int'l University. She previously interned at both LLNL and Pacific Northwest Nat’l Laboratories in summers of 2019 and 2016 & 2018, respectively. During her internship assignments, she developed experiments in U and neptunium remediation technologies. In May '18, she received the Innovations in Nuclear Technology R&D Award and in March '16, she received the Roy G Post.
