Florida International University
I am currently a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Florida International University. I received my degrees in B.tech Industrial Chemistry from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria and M.Sc in Environmental Chemistry and Pollution Control from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I moved to Miami in 2016 for my enrollment in the PhD program at FIU. My research focuses on environmental remediation of heavy metals by chelating with organic ligands; this narrows down to the use of sulfonamide and thioamide ligands for the extraction and complexation of mercury from alkaline high-level waste. I am a mother of 3 who loves to design and sew.
