Biography

Alastair has over 35 years nuclear related experience in the UK (primarily at Dounreay) and in the US (primarily at Hanford). He is currently the VP for Decommissioning and Waste Management with AECL in Canada leading the oversight of a significant portfolio of work including the decommissioning at Chalk River, Whiteshell and the remediation of the Port Hope area. An engineer by background he has operational, power plant, project management, programme management and reactor decommissioning experience. His most recent project prior to his move to AECL was a complex packaging and transport project to repatriate HEU from the UK to the US.
