Doug Tonkay has over 32 years of experience in the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM), holding various technical positions in radioactive waste management. He is currently the Director of Waste Disposal, and an expert on low-level radioactive waste disposal. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, where his graduate studies focused on nuclear waste management.
