Biography

After completing a chemistry PhD at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Steve embarked upon a career in the nuclear industry by joining BNFL in the year 2000. Originally a Research Technologist, he then moved into Project and Technical Programme Management before settling into Technical Leadership roles. Steve is currently UK National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Capability Leader for the Waste Behaviour Characterisation & Immobilisation area; responsible for technical teams supporting various customers, focusing on operation of highly active and intermediate level waste effluents plants, grout encapsulation, facility decontamination and decommissioning, environmental restoration and clean energy . Steve's role also includes facilitation of both national and international collaborations.
