Biography

Matt Tilsley is the Chief Engineer for the Magnox decommissioning programme, this covers 12 sites in the UK and comprises of Magnox gas cooled power reactors across 10 sites, and research and prototype reactors at Harwell and Winfrith. The decommissioning programmes mission is to take the sites to the end of their lifecycle and return the land to other uses. Dr Tilsley has a degree in Physics, a PhD in Materials and an MBA. Since joining Magnox in 1996 he has worked in remote operations, outage delivery, project management, safety case, systems engineering and has been the technical lead for the decommissioning programme for the last 9 years.
