Reyes L. Quezada is a professor at the University of San Diego in California in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences-Department of Learning and Teaching. His doctorate is from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He was an elementary bilingual classroom teacher, a community college counselor, director of graduate programs, principal investigator for grants, and department Chair. His research focus is on cultural proficiency, equity, family-school and community engagement, action research, community college students of color and their resiliency, and international education. He has published books and book chapters on cultural diversity and cultural proficiency, recruitment of faculty of color, internationalization of higher education and has published in the Journal of Multicultural Education the Catholic Education Journal, Teaching Education, and Teacher Education Quarterly, Journal of Education for Teaching and others. He is on the board of directors of the Association for Advancing Quality Educator Preparation (AAQEP), served on the American Association for Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE), a board member of the International Council for the Education of Teachers (ICET), the Council on Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and is the current editor for Teacher Education Quarterly (TEQ) and on many other editorial boards. He was the Co-chair for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing-Committee on Accreditation (COA), Chair of the Global Diversity and Multicultural Committee for the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, on the board of the Old Town Academy Charter School, and formerly on the San Bernardino County-Third District Supervisor Representative to the Equal
