Biography

Todd Smith is MST Global’s Senior Business Development Manager for Canada and has been evangelizing Digital Transformation, Automation and the Internet of Things (IoT) to the Canadian Mining Industry for over 10 years. Todd works closely with Maintenance, Mine and Electrical Engineers, Senior Management and Operations Personnel at mines across Canada to help them increase safety, improve productivity and efficiency and reduce costs. With installations in over 320 mines and over 31 years of experience and more digital networks installed in mines than any other vendor, MST is the Global Leader in Mining Communications. They pioneered highly scalable, innovative, purpose-built Wi-Fi communications with the first installation being done in Canada in 2004. MST is headquartered in Sydney, Australia and designs, manufactures, develops and supports critical technologies for communications, automation, production optimization, underground asset, vehicle and personnel tracking, proximity detection and safety in hazardous mining environments. Todd holds a degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and has spent over 20 years working in the technology industry with IBM Canada Ltd., several Waterloo technology companies and Eastman Chemical Company.
