Biography

Cheryl received her B.Sc in Mining Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and has held various mining engineering positions in Canada and the USA over the past 30+ years. She currently holds the role of Manager - Long Range Ventilation & Infrastructure Design for Vale Base Metals North Atlantic Operations where she leads a team to develop the strategy, standards and guidelines, designs and execution support for ventilation and mine infrastructure projects and operating systems. She also continues to be the Subject Matter Expert for Vale with regard to ventilation matters. Cheryl has published in the areas of technology, design, health and safety. She has been involved with numerous research projects, is currently a Board Member of the Mining Diesel Emissions Council, participates on standards and legislative committees.
