Biography

Carol M. Jantzen retired from the Savannah River National Laboratory after 37 years. For the past 40 years she has performed research and development related to glass, ceramic, mineral, cementitious and metallic waste forms for nuclear and hazardous waste disposal. She has been acitive in waste form development, waste form durability testing and modeling, and HLW process control modeling in the US and Europe. She is currently an Affiliate Faculty at University of SC Aiken. Jantzen received a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the SUNY Stony Brook with a specialization in glass chemistry and her MS and BS are in geochemistry. She has >300 publications,
