Biography

Lou holds degrees in Geology, Mining Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering from Canadian Universities and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium. He teaches soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) in Belgium and is a scientific staff member at SCK•CEN, the Belgian Nuclear Research Center in Mol and ESV EURIDICE, the underground research laboratory HADES in Belgium. He currently oversees the testing and feasibility program of the Belgian Supercontainer Project.
