Biography

Wendy Thompson is a principal scientist at Washington Closure Hanford, Inc. in Richland, Washington. She has a bachelor of science in geology and is a licensed geologist and hydrogeologist. She has 25 years experience performing waste site characterization, remediation, and closeout, including drilling and sampling at highly radioactive waste sites. She also has experience in waste management, hazardous material transportation, and environmental compliance, supporting a variety of commercial and Department of Energy remediation and decommissioning projects. Wendy is an experienced sailor with certifications through the American Sailing Association and enjoys golfing, sailing, hiking, and playing bluegrass
