Biography

Horst-Jürgen Herbert is Head of the Department of Process analyses in the Division of Final Repository Safety Research of the Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) in Braunschweig, Germany. He has a PhD in Geology and over 30 years of experience in the field of chemical and hydraulical processes in the near field of repositories in geological formations. Horst-Jürgen is a member of the OECD-NEA Clay Club and adjunct professor for geochemistry at the technical University of Braunschweig. He is working on the development of reactive transport models for the prediction of the long-term behavior of cementitious materials which are
